I am a couch Detective!
Host Amye Archer (along with her incredible rotation of guests like Amanda, Becca, and Kyla) provides brilliant, energetic, and empathetic deep dives into the true crime documentaries and series we're all binging. Amye is totally and completely relatable; she makes you laugh out loud. It genuinely feels like you're hanging out with your smartest, funniest friends who are just as obsessed with the case as you are.
My new can’t-miss podcast
Finally…it like I have someone to discuss all the documentaries I watch! Strikes the perfect balance of empathy, humor, intrigue, and opinion. Also: HANDS DOWN, the best podcast name ever. I’m annoyed I didn’t think of it first.
Love it
New favorite podcast! These girls are hysterical I’ve never laughed so hard about murder. The staircase episodes are so good! I love the imitation of Michael with the pipe!
My favorite murder podcast
I am a big fan of podcasts but this is the very first one I have ever subscribed and paid for. Love that the host is intelligent yet humble and someone I’d want to be friends with. Fun to listen to yet always respectful of victims.
Murder can be fun?
This podcast feels like you’re just talking to your friends about the documentary you both just watched. I can’t tell you how many times I have talked back now thinking I’m part of the conversation. I accidentally binged all the available episodes in 2 days so now I wait!
Unknown Number Episode
Great conversation and a lot of good points. Having grown up with a narcissist mother, the documentary was very triggering for me. I do feel like Kendra is a narcissist with sociopathic tendencies. She was jealous of her own daughter. I lived it with my mother but thankfully there wasn't technology when I was a teenager. She flirted with my dates and would tell them bad things about me. Kendra should have gotten more jail time!
Awesome Pod!
Love hearing your takes!
The best true crime pod
That’s all. I just love listening.
Thrilled!
This show is the highlight of my week. I whisper Amye’s name in my heart a thousand times. She is there, but I can’t stop crying. 😂😂💗💗💗
So good!!
Love these recaps so much that I’ve been using them as a guide on what to watch so that I can come back and listen to the recap. The Bakersfield 3 doc was phenomenal. I also watched knowing absolutely nothing, and I was blown away. I was SO glad Amy and her guest had a similar reaction and really did it justice. One small piece that I read about the case afterwards that I found helpful- the DA needed to charge Baylee too because so much of their case against MQ relied on MV’s testimony, so discrediting that would have made it harder to convict MQ. I still think Baylee is a victim both when she was there and now.
Feels a bit exclusive
I look forward to new episodes, but nearly all of them are marked for subscribers only. Will probably stop checking for updates.
Great show!
I am so glad I stumbled on this show. The host’s Michael Peterson impression is amazing! It makes me laugh so hard. Keep up the good work.
Love Amy’s new podcast!
Great takes and honest POV’s
Favorite podcast
I LOVE Amye Archer, I love little miss recap and I’m so happy she now has a true crime podcast. Even with sensitive topics that I’d usually avoid, her delivery makes the case tolerable and brings awareness in a way that I appreciate.Although I’m in my 30s, she very much reminds me of how it was watching true crime documentaries with my mom and because she has past some years ago, it’s a nice refreshing feeling when listening to her take on these cases. I find her humor relatable and hope she continues putting episodes out here and little miss recap. Love you Amye! And your choice in guests are always superb
My review
This has become one of my favorite podcasts. I am watching all of these docs just to listen to Amye’s take on them. It’s been fascinating.
Love it!
As a Gen X/Elder Millenial lady who loves solving murders from my couch, this podcast is great. Happy to follow Amye and friends over from Little Miss Recap.
Amye Archer is Amazing!
Thanks for another great podcast that quickly became a must listen (loving the guests too— especially your sister)
So happy I found this!!
I love it!! They’re so good at recapping. Whether I’ve seen the doc or not, love to hear their take. Great voices, and dynamic. Really funny at times!! (When appropriate).
Fun listen
Love listening to Amye and her rotating guest hosts recap everything I’m already watching on true crime! Like discussing with your friends… keep the episodes coming!
Thorough & fun
Amye and guests always have a great viewpoint for these shows; and add in humor and outrage where appropriate. I look forward to listening to each episode and whether or not we have similar viewpoints.
Love It!
Love MSW! Amye has great takes on these true crime cases. I enjoy the different cohosts too.
True Crime Doc Coverage With Heart
This podcast is an excellent mix of true crime documentary coverage and heart that makes you really connected with the material through the podcast hosts. Of all of Amie Archer!s properties, I feel MSW is her best work because it is a true mix of intelligent reporting emotional sensibility, and humor.
Relatable, Empathic and Fun
It feels wrong to call a true crime podcast “fun” - certainly the crimes aren’t, but the discussion is. Amye and Amanda recap each documentary with empathy and candor, but also a sense of humor, appropriately applied. I’m a GenX mom originally from Pennsyltucky, so maybe that adds to the relatability. Anyway, thanks for the great listen. Keep it up. Go Birds!
Obsessed!
I love Amye and will listen to any podcast she puts out!
